Hi, I’m Tatum Hubble, a 17-year-old senior at Bandera High School, where I’m busy showing cattle, dancing, running cross country, and occasionally hitting the books in my honors classes. Diagnosed with severe hearing loss at age 3, I was told I’d never speak correctly—but I guess nobody told me that! I’ve tackled every challenge with resilience and faith, and now most people wouldn’t even know I wear hearing aids.

My mission? To show girls with hearing aids that being "different" is just another way of being awesome. You can dream big, push through, and come out on top.

When I’m not inspiring future trailblazers, you’ll find me riding 4-wheelers or tearing through the dunes at Glamis, California; because life’s too short to go slow. Oh, and by the way, I’m both a big sister and a little sister, so I’m always in the middle of something fun. Catch me if you can!

Ellie Wilkes attends Bandera Middle School, a 13 year old 8th Grader that has multiple passions some examples are track, choir, cosmetology, physiology, sewing, cooking, dancing, Shot Gun Club, 4-H Poultry competition, and American Sign Language. In Band she plays the Saxophone as a beginner and in track Ellie did long jump and sprinting, although her main passion is learning to Sign.

When her brother was about a year old Ellie’s parents noticed he was hearing impaired, she and her family had to learn key phrases of American Sign Language to communicate with her little brother. Months after his surgery he was able to communicate verbally but he was still using Sign before becoming ready to express himself verbally. That is how her interest began in American Sign Language.

To Ellie Bandera County means home & Family. Carrying the Miss Teen title will be a stepping stone to her spreading awareness about the importance of American Sign Language in her community.
