The Bandera County Scholarship Pageant

We are looking for Bandera Ambassadors!

The Bandera County Fair is proud to continue the tradition that was once founded in the early 1950's with the crowning of the Stompede Queens at the Cowbelle Bawl held at The Silver Spur Club. While the early Stompede days were a bit unruly, the goal of the Stompede Queen and The Cowbells was to advocate for the local ranches and to promote farming and agriculture in Bandera County.

Much like many pageants today!

Only, the public perception of a pageant program is often that it’s a beauty pageant or only a one-night showcase, but in reality it is so much more. The unique opportunity to be Miss Bandera County Queen will be an annual program of “Style, Service, Scholarship and Success” – that The Bandera County Fair stands behind to bring the community together & offer young ladies a chance to bring awareness on important topics of their generation to the community. All the while, preserving Bandera County’s history of The Cowbelles and Stampede Queens! Most importantly, keeping our unique regional spirit alive encouraging tourism for The Cowboy Capital of the World Bandera, TX!

Participants will acquire life long skills, meet other like-minded women, cultivate their own personal western style, and engage within their communities and surrounding counties preparing them for real world connections, fun appearances & opportunities to advocate & promote their platform with a Queen Title & Crown!

Our Story

The 3rd Annual Bandera County Scholarship Program for an exciting 3rd year, which aims to identify and empower the next Bandera County Ambassador. This initiative not only celebrates the achievements of young women in our community but also plays a crucial role in fostering future leaders pursuing their academic goals while making a difference in their small town community. In a small town opportunities like this are uncommon and scarce for our female young ladies. In order to properly fund this program there must be a financial foundation we can build on to make it happen. That's where you come in!

About the Scholarship Program:

Our scholarship program is designed to provide financial assistance to young women pursuing their educational goals while developing essential leadership skills. We believe that by investing in these future leaders, we can significantly contribute to the growth and prosperity of our small town as well as the participants acquiring life long skills, meeting other like-minded individuals, cultivating their own personal western style, and engaging within their communities and surrounding counties preparing them for real world connections, fun appearances & opportunities to advocate & promote their platform with a QueenTitle & Crown as the next Miss Bandera County Queen! The unique opportunity to be Miss Bandera County Queen will be an annual program of “Style, Service, Scholarship and Success” – offering young ladies a chance to bring awareness on important topics of their generation to the community. All the while, preserving Bandera County’s history of The Cowbelles and Stampede Queens! Most importantly, keeping our unique regional spirit alive encouraging tourism for The Cowboy Capital of the World Bandera, TX!

Our Goals:

1. To ensure the sustainability and longevity of our scholarship program, we aim to create a formal nonprofit organization that can operate year-round, providing ongoing support to our scholarship recipients.

2. Host a Scholarship Event: We plan to organize an annual scholarship event that will not only raise funds for the program but also serve as a platform to recognize the achievements of our young female leaders within the community throughout the year volunteering.

3. Empower Young Women: By providing scholarships and leadership training, we aim to instill confidence in young women, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and take active roles in their communities.

4. Prepare them for Miss Texas State Level Competitions.

5. An annual commitment to mentoring young women from ages 9-18 years old.

- Gold Sponsor ($3,000): Logo on promotional materials and recognition at the scholarship event.

- Silver Sponsor ($1,000): Recognition at the scholarship event and inclusion in our promotional announcements.
